Nitrous Oxide

A colorless, inorganic gas, nitrous oxide has a long history of usage in dentistry. With the appropriate levels set by our experts, nitrous oxide serves as a mild sedative, giving you feelings of calm and comfort throughout a dental procedure. This is great for easing dental anxiety in mild cases. You may have also heard of nitrous oxide referred to as “laughing gas” for the pleasant feelings it can give you. The advantage here? Nitrous oxide lets you cooperate and converse with the dentist, even while alleviating your anxiety.

Oral Sedation

Oral sedation is a form of conscious sedation, usually in the form of medication before the procedure. Because this kind of sedation can leave you groggy and unable to operate machinery, you’ll want to make sure a driver accompanies you to your appointment. The good news? Oral sedation can help you relax if you are prone to a higher level of anxiety or need a more complicated procedure. We’ll work with you to make sure that the oral sedation you take is the safest option for you—and our friendly staff will be by your side the entire time.

IV Sedation

In extreme cases of dental anxiety or if you need to receive multiple dental treatments in a shortened period of time, IV Sedation may be the best option for you. IV sedation means the sedation goes directly into the bloodstream through an intravenous line—intravenous meaning “within a vein.” The sedation going directly into your bloodstream means it can take immediate effect, giving you exactly what you need to be as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure. Because you are being sedated, you are required to have a driver with you when you leave.
